Circular X presents at the New Business Models Conference 2020 1- 2 July 2020

On 1 July 2020, project Circular X presented its first literature review at the New Business Models Conference 2020. The paper presentation by Nancy Bocken co-authored with Ilka Weissbrod and Maria Antikainen focused on the emerging field of business model experimentation for the circular economy and featured the dominant research streams, types of experiments in literature, and tools and approaches.

This conference took place online for the first time, due to travel restrictions, which may provide a new sustainable option for the future. This conference also featured outcomes from various EU projects related to demonstration, experimentation and piloting with circular business models including H2020 CIRCUSOL, ZeroBrine, CIRCUIT and now also ERC funded project Circular X. A session was also hosted by PACE including a discussion between academia and practice to accelerate the circular economy transition with a focus on business models.
