ERCE is the Expertise Centre for Regional Circular Economy for the region around Maastricht, including also Germany and Belgium. On 11 June 2026, the second large-scale Captains of Circularity event took place in Heerlen in the South of The Netherlands. The aim of the event was to work with regional actors on ways to implement circular solutions and focused on topics like business model and ecosystem innovation and citizen participation. Nancy Bocken joined regional policy-makers in a panel reflection concluding the event, and shared insights from relevant research projects like Circular X.
